Hi, I’m Trice, a Jacksonville Blogger/Influencer who loves all things fashion, food, and travel!
My blog is called High Heels and Good Meals and it is my creative outlet to share all of these things I love with a focus on the Jacksonville, FL scene! I’m an educator by day and a social butterfly by night. My personal style is budget friendly, trendy and chic. You will mostly find my go to outfits for hitting the town and outfits for work that will lend a bit of inspiration for my fellow teachers! After all, I want everyone to know that “Teachers Have Style Too”! When I’m not checking out the newest restaurants around town, visiting our local markets, shopping at my favorite local boutiques, or testing out new recipes, I’m wandering around the world checking off items on my bucket list!
I moved to Jacksonville a little over 15 years ago and made it a point to delve into the city and get to know all of its ins and outs as best I could. With that being said, I have grown to love many different things about the city! I'm a foodie so first and foremost would be the diverse food scene. I adore the melting pot of local fare Jacksonville has to offer. I also love being surrounded by so many beautiful bodies of water. Water brings peace and having the beach right up the street to watch the sun rise and set is therapeutic. Honorable mentions would include all of the fabulous street art you can find in just about every area of town, our various festivals and markets, and of course our Southern & historic charm.
Jacksonville has many attractions but when family and friends come to visit me, I find myself taking them to check out the beach, the Jaguar stadium, Riverside Arts Market, the MOCA or Cummer Museums, a rooftop restaurant like Cowford or River and Post, and 5 points. For the shopaholics in town, the St. Johns Town Center is a one-stop shop for all of your fashion needs.
I always find it challenging to answer this question because there are so many local restaurants I absolutely love! Whenever I am asked, I always reply that I can give you my favorite depending on what type of cuisine you're wanting at the moment. If I had to choose a favorite now, it would be Black Sheep (now closed) in 5 points. I've always enjoyed my dine in experiences there. The ambiance, the rooftop, the cocktails, and of course their food, have never let me down. The Korean Short Ribs washed down with a "Dusty Boot" are must-haves and my go-tos!
