Hi! We are Mauricio & Stephen, LGBTQ+ dads to our daughter Bella. We are always on the go and looking for new adventures and places to explore.

When we started looking at places to move to when we left Miami, we fell in love with Jacksonville. While exploring Jacksonville, we love to post and share our adventures for others to enjoy. Whether enjoying the beauty of Jacksonville or traveling elsewhere, follow us on our journey as we help you discover all the fun things to do in Jax.

1. What do you love most about Jacksonville?

Our favorite thing about Jacksonville is there are so many hidden gems. There is always something to do or somewhere new to go. No matter what you want: food, concerts, parks, kids' activities, and so much more, Jacksonville has it. From historic buildings and history to new construction and thriving nightlife. Jacksonville will amaze you with what it has to offer.

2. What is one thing you tell a visitor that they must see/do when in Jax?

Wow. To limit it down to one thing is so tricky. Considering kids and adults, we highly recommend Sweet Pete’s Candy. In one place, you get a history lesson about candy and see an original “golden ticket,” and find every kind of candy you can imagine. After filling your bags with yummy sweets, stop in their restaurant for some delicious food. You won’t have anything but a sweet and memorable time.

3. Where is your favorite local spot to eat?

Again, so many places. One of our local favorites that we visit a lot is the Happy Grilled Cheese. Jacksonville’s Original Gourmet Cheese. They started as a food truck and are quickly expanding to other states. Their menu is constantly changing, and they have so many types of grilled cheese sandwiches it will blow your mind!
