Top Spots to Visit in the 7 Creeks Recreation Area
With seven creeks and over 30 miles of trails, there are so many amazing spots to explore.
Here's are Spots in 7 Creeks that we know will leave you breathing easier and your camera roll a little fuller:
1. The north end of Betz-Tiger Point - driving access opens in November 2020, head to the Edwards Creek Day-Use Area and feast your eyes on these beautiful waters. There is a fishing platform, kayak launch and picnic area to enjoy! Not to mention the trails!
2. The Cedar Creek Bridge which connects NPS's Cedar Point to the City of Jacksonville's Cedar Point Preserve. This amazing walkway extends the trails and bridges the creek for more amazing natural beauty.
3. The Cedar Creek Boat Ramp is where you want to be at sunrise! This gorgeous spot with leave you in awe. This is also the spot to launch your boat to explore all of the creeks in the area via motorized boat.
4. Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve is where you can head to see the birds. Song birds, owls, woodpeckers, turkey and bobwhite are some of the residents you will find, no matter what time of year.
During the winter months, a pair of American bald Eagles nest in the pines. Wood storks, roseate spoonbills and egrets fish the salt marsh. Be sure to bring your binoculars and your field guide along on your birding trip.
