Rankings: JAX Takes Off in Customer Satisfaction

They’re thrilled to announce that Jacksonville International Airport ranked Second Best Medium Hub Airport for Customer Satisfaction in North America, according to the 2024 J.D. Power North America Airport Satisfaction Study! This recognition is a testament to the hard work and support of our incredible community and travelers who make JAX a top-notch airport.

New Construction Projects: Expanding for a Better Travel Experience

Big changes are on the horizon at JAX, with several projects already underway. Demolition has started to make room for Concourse B, a much-anticipated addition that will offer six new gates, more dining options, and new passenger lounges. This will enhance the travel experience and provide more space and services for everyone passing through.

In addition to Concourse B, they’re getting ready to break ground on a third car garage, making parking even more convenient. The current Hourly and Daily Garages, Daily Surface Lot, and Economy Lots will remain available during construction, so there’s no need to worry about parking while they expand.

Looking ahead, over the next few years, JAX will also expand its security checkpoint area and add more restaurants, shops, and improved in-terminal amenities. They’re building a better experience from the ground up!

Dining: New Eats to Savor

Hungry travelers, rejoice! JAX is bringing some of the best local flavors right to the terminal.

Angie’s Subs, a Jacksonville Beach favorite, is now serving up delicious sandwiches near Gate A3. Known for its unique offerings like the “Peruvian” and “Jack Del Rio,” this iconic sub shop also has salads, sides like deviled eggs, and their famous sweet tea. Perfect for a quick bite or a sit-down meal before your flight, Angie’s Subs is open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The highly anticipated Vino Volo is reopened in Concourse C. This revamped airport wine bar features award-winning wines, craft beer, cocktails, and a new menu to enjoy throughout the day. Right next door, Verdi Market will provide gourmet snacks, fresh pastries, grab-and-go meals, and local coffee from Pura Bean Coffee Company.

Fans of Chili’s Grill & Bar will be excited to hear that the restaurant has returned with a fresh new look and expanded space post-security, offering its signature burgers, salads, fajitas, and more.

Craving something different? Dogfish Head Bar, Firehouse Subs, Burrito Gallery, Southern Grounds, and BurgerFi are just a few more of the exciting dining options available throughout the terminal. There’s something for everyone at JAX!

Art & Exhibits: A Visual Feast at JAX

JAX is more than just an airport—it’s a hub for local arts and culture. Through the Jacksonville Aviation Authority Arts & Culture Program (JAAACP), over 700 artists from Northeast Florida have been showcased in the airport’s exhibits, offering travelers a glimpse of the region’s rich creativity. Keep an eye out for rotating exhibits from local artists each time you pass through.

In addition to the temporary art displays, JAX also houses a permanent collection of award-winning art that visitors can enjoy year-round. And for aviation enthusiasts, don’t miss the iconic F-15 Eagle at the entrance to the airport, donated by the Florida Air National Guard’s 125th Fighter Wing. This aircraft serves as a tribute to the brave men and women who have defended our freedom since the airport’s opening in 1968.

Finally, history lovers can explore an incredible display of over 1,000 National Geographic Magazines dating from the 1950s to today, donated by the Friends of the Jacksonville Public Library. This unique collection is just one more way JAX continues to bring culture and history to its passengers.
