With an average of 221 days of sunshine, I delight in al fresco dining every chance I get.

The Flip Side of Florida has a great outdoor dining scene with something everyone, from locals and visitors alike, can enjoy. From rooftops, patios, and porches, here are 10 of the best restaurants in Jacksonville with patio dining. Go get out and savor the sunny vibes, fresh air, and great food with a view!

Silkie's Chicken and Champagne Bar

Taverna is always at the top of my list of great restaurants with a patio for outdoor dining. Their handcrafted Italian cuisine is always so fresh and flavorful, their craft cocktails and terroir-driven wine list is simply amazing, and I love the ambiance. Located in the heart of the San Marco neighborhood, their patio provides a magnificent view of the Three Lions Fountain and the street-lined boutiques. I would be remiss if I did not mention their sister restaurant, Oceana. It is located right next door and is one of the best raw oyster bars in town offering some of the freshest seafood.

The District SPR is located in historic Springfield and is one of the coolest outdoor restaurants in town. There is an indoor dining space, but it truly feels like dining outside is where it’s at if you visit this restaurant. Their patio space is cozy and equipped with a Peacock Garden, Luna tents, and geodomes. When you go be sure to get the mimosa tower and call ahead to see if there will be a band performing that day.

Chicken and waffles are cool, but brunch is incomplete without champagne! Silkies Chicken and Champagne has the perfect solution with their eclectic menu, champagne flights, and patio dining. Located in the heart of the Springfield neighborhood, you can enjoy a bit of Southern charm, while appreciating the breeze and sunshine.

If you are looking for a great happy hour with a patio view, Prati Italia located at St. John’s Town Center is my go-to! When you go, you simply must sit outside to their lakeside patio. Sip on an Aperol spritz, handmade pasta, Roman-style pizza, great cocktails, and amazing service while taking in the sunshine and relaxing views. Here is a pro-tip - if you go on a Thursday, you can also enjoy LIVE music!

Prati Italia

If you want to know where the locals go to enjoy socializing and fun spirits with the option to delight in backyard patio vibes, 1937 Spirits and Eatery is it! I always have a blast there whether it’s for their DJ brunch, dinner, or catching up over a cocktail with friends. And did I mention they have a cool lounge area equipped with a photo booth? Such a fun spot!

River and Post offers a great brunch that is meant to be enjoyed outdoors! They have a cool shaded patio where you can dine on their delectable brunch with a cool breeze and views of Riverside Jacksonville. After dining on their patio, head upstairs to their rooftop bar and sip on delicious craft cocktails while taking in gorgeous views of Downtown and the St. Johns River.

I recently experienced a Galentine's Day brunch with friends at Midtown Table and it always feels like home when you dine on their outdoor patio area. Try their Italian-inspired meals, craft cocktails, and family time while enjoying their fire pits and yard games for the little ones and friends alike

When the weekend is upon us, and everyone’s in the mood for brunch, Blue Fish Restaurant and Oyster Bar is never left off the list of options! They have a great front of restaurant patio where you can enjoy the views of the Shoppes of Avondale while dining on oysters and $1.50 mimosas. They also have a back of restaurant patio option as well if you want a little more privacy.

Are you into speakeasies? Well, I’ve got a cool recommendation and yep, they also have a patio! Buchner’s Bierhalle is one of Jacksonville’s hidden gems providing an authentic German dining experience. I particularly like ordering a personal-sized charcuterie board, their house champagne and savoring it on their outdoor patio/Biergarten

I love a good taco and the outdoor patio vibes at Anejo Cocina in Riverside! I could probably eat tacos every day and the Quesabirria tacos and grilled Mexican street corn at Anejo are tough to beat. Enjoying them with a cool margarita on the patio while relishing the sunny views of Unity Plaza fountain is a wonderful way to dine

Rooftops are great but there’s much to love about patios as well! You can still enjoy the nice breeze, sunny skies, and views while dining on a great meal at each one of the restaurants I mentioned.
