THE JAX ALE TRAIL is home to more than 20 craft breweries. Here are some of the coolest family-friendly options:

Head to Intuition Ale Works in the heart of the Sports Complex in Downtown for a great beer with a view! The tap room has a rooftop bar that overlooks both the Jacksonville Jaguars stadium and the St. Johns River. While you sample some of their local brews like the Jon Boat Coastal Ale, People’s Pale Ale and I-10 IPA, the little ones can stay entertained playing board games, ping-pong, and cornhole.

Myrtle Avenue Brewing in Jacksonville’s Rail Yard District features a spacious outdoor area, complete with a play area for kids. Your kids will have a blast here with the abundance of toys, a jungle gym and a playground. Myrtle Avenue Brewing is in what is known as the Jax Railyard Exchange which includes other businesses: Bobbyk Boutique, Longroad Coffee Co. and Black Cat Kombucha. The brewery also has rotating food vendors so you and the family can enjoy a bite to eat while you are there.

At Wicked Barley Brewing Company, in the heart of the Mandarin neighborhood, beer and adventure lovers can enjoy a great family time via boat or kayak. Wicked Barley offers an extensive food menu, a covered patio, a dock, and fun activities like cornhole, Adirondack chairs, trivia, and plenty of outdoor activities.

In Jacksonville Beach, Green Room Brewing has a full room dedicated to family fun! They have ping pong tables, foosball tables, jenga, board games and live music during the weekend. You are also welcomed to bring your own food. Green Room offers a long list of craft beers including their Count Shakula Stout, Pablo Beach Pale Ale, and Fruit on the Bottom Sour.

Veterans United Craft Brewery, located in the Southside neighborhood, is owned by a United States Navy Veteran. The walls of the brewery are adorned with military memorabilia and photos. This could be a great opportunity and learning lesson for the kids. Veterans also has many board and card games to play as a family.

If your family likes sports, check out Strings Sports Brewery. They have two locations, one in Springfield and one in Jacksonville Beach. Their Springfield location has a big outdoor seating area, games and sports games on TV. This brewery is the perfect atmosphere for any game day!

Located in Murray Hill, Fishweir Brewing Company is a staple in this neighborhood. You can feel the community spirit when you walk in. "The Backyard" as they call it, is the perfect spot to let your kids run around. In this space, they also host movie nights, rotating food vendors and a weekly farmers market called Murray Hill Farmers Market. The market is every Wednesday from 5-8 pm.
