Riverside Memorial Park located on Jacksonville's Westside is the final resting place for many of Jacksonville's Southern Music Pioneer's and a gym teacher who inspired the name of the band.
Buried at Riverside Memorial Park are, Ronnie Van Zant of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Dave Hlublek, founder of Molly Hatchet, Forby Leonard Skinner, teacher who inspired the name Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allen Collins, Lynyrd Skynyrd member, Billy Powell, Lynyrd Skynyrd member and Leon Wilkeson, Lynyrd Skynyrd member.
