Taye Brown Regional Park
Taye Brown Regional Park is home to the Cecil Recreation Complex and the Jacksonville Equestrian Center. Opened in March 2004, the 4,000-seat Equestrian Center is a 123,130 square-foot indoor non-air conditioned structure with an earth floor performance ring and amenities. It also includes an outdoor covered arena, a total of 426 stalls, and areas for trailer and spectator parking. The 37,000-square-foot community center houses an Olympic-sized swimming pool, an instructional pool, and a community meeting room. The softball complex houses four fields for girls' fast-pitch softball and a two-story amenity building. The trail is an accessible amenity. The land was previously a part of Naval Air Station Cecil Field. It was the home of their aircraft armament storage.
The complex trails include asphalt, gravel, and dirt roads, which lead into the Cecil Field Conservation Corridor. You can stroll the trails and view wildlife. Trails are also set up for biking and equestrian activities.
In addition to the trails, you can enjoy picnics in the park. The Cecil Recreation Complex contains a full-size gymnasium that includes workout rooms, racquetball courts, saunas, and shower areas. The facilities are also great for corporate gatherings. It is equipped with a multi-purpose room and classrooms. Everyone can team up and make reservations to utilize the softball fields or watch a scheduled softball game.
