The Green House - The Allman Brothers History
This large and privately owned home was built in 1905. It's 3,084-square-foot home which held the first ever Jam session for what became the Allman Brothers Band. The home was rented by Dickey Betts (guitar-vocals) and Berry Oakley (bass-vocals) and their families. Later, members of Lynyrd Skynyrd rented the Green House. The Allman Brothers Band members and their families eventually vacated the Green House, then moving to what would be known as the Gray House (2844 Riverside Ave.). Please be respectful when going to see this music history as it is a private residence.
