Visit Jacksonville is looking for local residents to serve as community liaisons (2-3) for the organization. This individual will perform outreach efforts on behalf of Visit Jacksonville to minority-owned and underrepresented businesses and multicultural organizations in Duval County, sharing the impact of tourism and explaining the resources Visit Jacksonville can offer to small businesses in the community.
Primary responsibilities for the Visit Jacksonville Liaison will include:
1. Spreading awareness of Visit Jacksonville and its benefits by making introductions to local business owners and prominent community members.
2. Creating and distributing a survey to gather feedback for Visit Jacksonville to implement into its plans for the upcoming fiscal year.
3. Creating a plan to host one community meeting or several smaller community workshops where multicultural businesses and organizations can meet and engage with the Visit Jacksonville team.
4. Reviewing Visit Jacksonville’s website, mobile app and social media content to make recommendations for improvements to better provide information for, and to reach, cultural communities.
Timeline:
May 1 – June 7: Application period
June 1 – August 30: The 2-month period where the selected individual will serve as a Community Liaison for Visit Jacksonville.
Payment:
These individuals will be contracted for a 2-month period that will take place between June 1 – August 30 depending on the start date and receive $500 at the conclusion of each month ($1,000 total) if all goals are met. Visit Jacksonville expects a total of 20-25 hours of work.
Additional Information:
Community Liaison will participate in an onboarding with Visit Jacksonville to receive a full understanding of the organization, its mission and the resources it can offer.
Community Liaison is required to have weekly or bi-weekly status report calls with a Visit Jacksonville representative to ensure goals are met.
