Transportation & Parking
Jacksonville International Airport
Jacksonville International Airport strives to provide services that make travel easier for those with disabilities. Learn more about accessibility services at the airport.
Jacksonville International Airport is part of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Initiative, a program designed to assist passengers with disabilities. This initiative helps those who choose to disclose that they have a hidden disability by wearing a Sunflower Lanyard. This bright, distinctive symbol lets everyone know that the wearer has a disability, which may not be apparent, and this person may need understanding, extra help and perhaps extra time navigating through the airport.
The Sunflower lanyards are available to anyone who chooses to wear one. No questions are asked regarding eligibility. Wearing a lanyard doesn’t entitle the wearer to free parking, head-of-the-line privileges or any special treatment except for a little extra care, understanding and patience. Lanyards will be located at the Ambassador Information Booth in the Courtyard, the Visit Jacksonville Information Booth and the JAX Military M Lounge in Baggage Claim.
Public Transportation
Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) is committed to providing safe, reliable, efficient and sustainable service accessible to persons with disabilities. Transit hubs, shelters and most bus stops are accessible. In addition to bus service, JTA offers The Skyway, a free, elevated monorail system above Downtown that crosses the St. Johns River to Kings Avenue on the Southbank.
