The first Monday of every month from 5 to 8 pm, offers individuals with physical or cognitive challenges the opportunity to indoor skydive. Highly-trained instructors help with everything from putting on a flight suit to soaring through the air.
Bags are available at the Zoo entrance and are designed to help with sensory needs of adults and children. The bag includes items that can help lessen sensory overload.
The sensory-friendly indoor gym offers play times with swings, slides and games for children and their caregivers. There are also specialty classes like art, dance and yoga, and special events throughout the year.
Each Wednesday afternoon, lighting and sound will be modified to accommodate visitors with sensory processing considerations. Enjoy three levels of exciting and interactive exhibitions. Sensory-inclusive hours are open to all visitors.
The third Friday evening of each month is Family Sensory Night. Families and individuals are invited to enjoy exclusive access to explore the Museum in a sensory-friendly environment with modified sound and lighting, visit with featured vendors and service providers, and enjoy a Sensory Room generously provided by We Rock the Spectrum.
